Budtender / Back Office

We are seeking an enthusiastic, personable budtender, and a Back Office indivifual who can use their passion for cannabis knowledge to guide customers to the appropriate product and provide an impeccable customer service experience, while also complying with all state and federal regulations. Budtenders are expected to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in cannabis science and regulations, while also maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable store environment for customers and co-workers alike.

***Cannabis inventory management experience is a plus! We are also hiring an inventory manager as well!

Responsibilities:

• Welcome customers & provide excellent customer service experience
• ID checks/age verification to ensure no one under the age of 21 is permitted inside
• Practice active listening to answer customer questions and concerns; ensure that they are well-informed and leave the store satisfied with their purchases and positive customer experience.
• Maintain knowledge of cannabis science, trends, and regulations, as well as store specials/sales & products in stock
• Answer customers’ questions regarding different products, strains, their uses, methods of consumption, etc. and provide accurate, useful educational information
• Guide and direct customers in their cannabis purchasing journey; advise them on cannabis products based on their requests, preferences, needs, and budget.
• Sales (Cannabis, Paraphernalia, Tobacco, Beer & Wine, Food & Drinks)
• Cashier/Cash drawer management
• Process customers' payments via the dispensary's point of sale system; ensure compliance in all transactions.
• Stock/Merchandising/Inventory Management
• Completion of hourly/Daily/Weekly/Periodic cleaning duties
• Conflict resolution & de-escalation
• Keep management informed of any customer complaints or operational issues
• Assist management team with other activities and operations of the stores as needed
• Opening/closing duties and other tasks as assigned
• Meet and exceed sales goal
• Maintain knowledge of inventory in stock and ensure that the sales floor is adequately stocked and organized

Requirements:

• 21+ years of age with valid ID
• Passion for cannabis and in-depth knowledge of cannabis products, strains, and consumption methods with a desire to continue to learn
• Open and flexible schedule availability (Weekend and night availability is required)
• Availability to cover last minute shift changes
• Desire to work on the dispensary side and the convenience store side
• Basic knowledge of computers, POS systems, and Apple iPads
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Accurate cash handling and basic math skills
• Confidence in capability to accurately verify legal age of all people who enter the store
• Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills and deliver exceptional customer service to every patron
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Capacity and willingness to deny a sale to a potential customer at the appropriate time, and to handle the potential confrontation as a result of denial
• Retail experience preferred
• Must consume cannabis regularly in some way, shape, or form in order to provide firsthand experience with customers and maintain knowledge of products offered

The Budtending position starts at $17.00/hour plus tips (NO tip sharing/pooling - you keep what you earn) and growth opportunities. The Back Office position starts at $19.00/hour.

The Budtending position starts with part-time hours (16-32 hours/week). The Back office positon is full time with 40hrs per week.
