Job Description:
The CPB Budget Analyst is responsible for documenting, defining the controls and procedures, and
verifying the overall financial health of the CPB Division within IT. In addition, is responsible for the
development, documentation, and implementation of processes, standards, and metrics relating to both
Budgeting and CPB reporting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Conducts overall expense review providing to the CPB Leadership team the exceptions and defining
areas for improvement.
· Ensures expenses that are project-related follow the Bank's defined expense approval process and
reviews overall Return on Investment analysis for soundness on an as needed basis.
· Provides the framework and strategy for the annual budgeting process including monthly variance
analysis procedures
· Ensures capital projects are funded and approved in line with the CPB Capital Plan
· Provides oversight and support for CPB Project capital and operating expense budgets
· Responsibility to ensure CPB Project spends are within budget and allocated
· Provides oversight and processing for Operating Expense approval requests to ensure actual spends
are within budget.
· Oversight and guidance to identify potential cost synergies working with CPB Directors and Leaders
Responsible for the monthly production of expense and statistical reporting is both timely and
accurate
Provides oversight and guidance.
· Facilitates the overall approval process for CPB expenses.
· Oversight and administration of CPB Department governance reporting, including designated
reporting in support of key CPB metrics and performance management reporting
· Responsible and oversight for the development of reports and metrics to aid in measuring and
improving the value added by CPB.
· Provide oversight and administration on behalf of CPB related Third Party contracts for Vendor
Management approval.
· Interacts with other supporting groups working with CPB, these would include but not be limited to
Flagstar Advisors, FX, Private Banking Dep. Operations, Private Banking Lending, CPB Digital, PLP,
ITDO, CIO Cabinet, Training, Accounting, etc.

· Performs special projects and additional duties and responsibilities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and experience
· Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance or related field.
· Minimum five to ten years of related experience to include at least three years in all aspects of
financial management to include demonstrated leadership experience.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
· Comprehensive knowledge of and the ability to apply advanced concepts, practices and procedures.
in finance and accounting.
· Knowledge of contracts, finance and budgeting.
· Broad technology knowledge
· Thorough working knowledge of technology reporting tools.
· Thorough knowledge of software licensing legal requirements.
· Comprehensive knowledge of the fundamental concepts, and procedures used in a purchasing
environment.
· Basic understanding of ITIL best practice fundamentals.
· Strong Negotiation and conflict management skills.
· Strong mathematical and financial analytic skills.
