Role and Responsibilities:
In the capacity of the Budget and Grants Administrator, you will collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator and the leadership team to provide Budget and grant oversight for the USDA - Forest Services Grant.
Job duties:
- Provide guidance and oversight to sub-awardees and their staff in preparing grant agreements and contracts to ensure compliance with federal grant requirements.
- Review grant applications to ensure alignment with the specific requirements of the federal grant.
- Deliver presentations and training sessions on federal grant management processes to sub-awardees and stakeholders.
- Grants Management Activities will include: regular review, reconciliation and forecasting of award finances; preparing adjustments and corrections to award budgets, preparing financial reports and ensuring all financial requirements have been met in compliance with university, state, federal and sponsor guidelines
- Work with USDA F.S. and the Foundation's external auditors for monitoring and audits. - Ensure compliance with Budget and spending.
- Upon award set up, review account establishment parameters, including billing and reporting requirements, budget, and cost-sharing obligations to include pooled position numbers and activity codes as required
- ·Coordinate with relevant individuals and make adjustments to payroll for all budgeted positions (including relative cost sharing positions, processing funding change forms and temporary position hiring actions);
- Closeout all funded projects consistent with university process and timelines

If you have the following, they want to hear from you:
- Five (5) + years of experience working in finance, accounting, or grant management is typically required. This might include experience in budgeting, financial analysis, grant writing, or grant administration.
- Specific experience managing grants, preparing budgets, and working with funding agencies or donors is highly desirable.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office especially MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public administration, or a related field is often required
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for accurately managing budgets and Grants.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for preparing reports, communicating with stakeholders, and presenting budget proposals.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting techniques
