WHAT WILL YOU DO:
The Budget Analyst II will work with various units around the university to manage and amend budgets as necessary throughout the fiscal year.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Assists in formulation of the annual original budget, including budget system data entry, review of budget information provided by units, balancing allocation sheets, compilation of data into summary sheets for submission to the Board of Regents, and preparation of budget books.
- Assists Accounting Services by working with colleges and administrative units to resolve a variety of budget checking errors in the financial system.
- Assists in reconciling personnel/position funding/distribution in budget and HR systems.
- Participates in quarterly reconciliation of the university budget amendment to the Board of Regents.
- Works with appropriate university staff to design and implement budget procedural changes as dictated by the Board of Regents.
- Assists financials system users across the University to ensure that various business transactions are made in accordance with policies and procedures of the State of Georgia, the Board of Regents and Georgia State University.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field and one year of experience; or combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with annual budget reconciliation and management.
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft Financials (including university fund codes and accounts) and OneUSG HR processes.
- Intermediate or advanced proficiency with MS Excel.
