Description
The Budget Analyst assists in the creation, distribution and explanation of the County's annual operating and capital budgets. The work is performed under the supervision of the Budget Director. The work requires considerable initiative and the ability to visualize, gather information, articulate, analyze, solve complex problems, make decisions, and exercise independent judgment. The position requires non-traditional hours during the budget season.

Description

Job Duties
- Assists in preparing, maintaining, and monitoring budgets, amendments, and capital improvement projects.
- Performs all necessary financial reporting for the American Rescue Plan Act funding as required per guidance, under the direction of the Budget Director.
- Assists in the preparation, administration, and reporting of the American Rescue Plan Act budget and performs related research as required.
- Assists in risk management activities of the County.
- Prepares, reviews and coordinates reports on the status of the budget in terms of expenditures, revenue, and performance.
- Supports presentation of complex financial information to management and other groups.
- Conducts research and analysis on projects that have significant impact on the department.
- Compiles, reviews, and analyzes data submitted by departments for inclusion within the County's annual budget, amendments, and capital improvement budget.
- Attends budget meetings and public hearings.
- Works with the Budget Director to improve budget methods and communication with departments.
- Performs account analysis, research, and other projects as required.
Minimum Qualifications
