THE POSITION

The Allegheny County Department of Human Services is in search of individuals for our Budget Analyst 1 positions who have a deep understanding of the principles and practices of public finance, with a special focus on budgetary procedures, practices, and objectives. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As the Budget Analyst 1, you will play a crucial role in maintaining communication with Department of Human Services (DHS) contractors and providers, as well as other areas within Allegheny County and DHS. Your primary responsibility will be to gather necessary fiscal and non-fiscal organizational and provider data, perform budgetary and financial functions, and carry out additional related duties. Your ultimate goal will be to ensure timely payment to DHS contractors and providers throughout the fiscal provider's life cycle. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also be required to liaise with fiscal and operating officials to obtain information or to explain well-established policies, procedures, principles, and precedents. You will be responsible for updating and inputting relevant invoice, budget, and provider information into various systems. You will also review allocation summaries and work with providers to complete the budgeting process to effect contracts.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year of experience in technical budget administration work; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
