Bank Secrecy Act Specialist Department: Compliance FLSA: Non-Exempt Reports To: Assistant Compliance/BSA Officer Status: Full Time Supervises: N/A Business Hours: M-F 8-5:30 General Summary The Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Specialist, under the direction of the Assistant Compliance/BSA Officer, will assist with the day-to-day tasks for adherence to compliance/BSA regulations and laws. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Learn and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of applicable compliance rules and regulations. Review new customer records daily to ensure compliance with the Bank's Customer Identification Program (CIP).
Review large cash transaction reports and supporting documents to identify CTR reportable transactions. Prepare government reports according to regulatory requirements for timely submission. Review OFAC reports daily to identify OFAC hits/suspects.
Review and analyze alerts generated by the Bank's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) software system in accordance with regulatory expectations. Identify and report trends related to reviews of alerts, daily reports and/or other sources. Provide support regarding investigations of financial activities, including documenting findings and completing assigned cases within a specified time frame.
Work cooperatively with other disciplines to ensure adherence to BSA and other applicable procedures. Review and analyze data for trends, training needs, and potential actions. Provide support to branch personnel regarding compliance with BSA-related tasks.
Assist Compliance team with audits and examinations. Participates in special department projects. Responsible for actively working with other employees to grow the organization.
