Broadcast Operations - Local Game Production

WORK OPTION: 4 days/week in the Secaucus, NJ office

Position Summary

• Manages the Broadcast Operations required in the execution of the day to day acquisition, production and delivery of the NBA's local broadcasts.
• Works with the various departments at the NBA in the support of game broadcast initiatives including Broadcast Engineering, Production, Broadcasting, Basketball Operations, and Events.

Major Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the scheduling, logistics, coordination, and communication supporting Local Game Productions produced by the NBA.
• Manage day to day interaction with vendors providing master control services, production services, and transmission services in operational support of Local Game Productions.
• Develop processes and workflows surrounding daily operations.
• Manage the booking of crews, facilities and transmission for NBA production needs.
• Support usage of HSAN including Back Haul Services & Point to Point requests.
• Create broadcast & logistical schedules for use by internal and external stakeholders
• Work with Broadcast Engineering to streamline workflows and create operational efficiencies.
• Build out and lead local operations team.
• Collaborate with NBA teams and vendors to ensure successful production and delivery of broadcasts.
• Manage budgets and guide production on costs.
• On occasion lead remote Broadcast Operations.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

• Strong knowledge of all facets of Broadcast Operations, including broadcast production, transmission, master control, and scheduling.
• Understanding of broadcast transmission standards and best practices.
• Strong strategic and analytical skills.
• Inspiring people manager & leader.
• Experience in planning, implementing and independently leading multiple projects.
• Experience with managing live game remote operations preferably with a regional sports network.
• Excellent verbal and written communications abilities.
• Experience with budgets and financial planning.
• Ability to effectively communicate with executives internal and external.
   

Experience Needed:

• 5-8 years experience in Broadcast Operations or related fields.

Educational Background Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in communications, Broadcasting, Technology or other related studies.

Salary Range: [[$135,000 - $160,000]]
