Position Summary
- Lead the transformation of the Broadcast Operations department in the workflows and processes related to the day-to-day execution of the acquisition, manipulation and delivery of NBA and affiliate league content to our global broadcast partners.
- Works with the various departments at the NBA in the support of broadcast initiatives including Broadcast Engineering, Production, Broadcasting, Basketball Operations, and Events.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assist in the reinvention of processes and workflows, introduce new tools and methodologies surrounding daily operations & Events.
- Help reconceive global distribution model and chart course for future transmission strategy.
- Manage the global distribution of NBA and affiliate leagues games and events.
- Define metrics for evaluating team performance, quality of work, and customer satisfaction; coach and mentor teams focusing on continuous improvement as a goal.
- Build and maintain working relationships with operational counterparts at NBA teams, broadcast partners, and transmission service providers.
- Oversee the booking of crews, facilities and transmission for NBA production needs.
- Oversee Construction of clean feeds for International Broadcasts.
- Create transmission paths, book associated facilities at NBAE for recording (DMM) and monitoring (TOC).
- Manage team and broadcast partners usage of HSAN including Back Haul Services & Point to Point requests.
- Facilitate the planning of Broadcast Operations relating to WNBA, G-League and BAL.
- Coordinate broadcast schedules & distribution for use by internal & external stakeholders
- Supervise Automation & scheduling system entry for broadcast traffic and production needs.
- Work with Engineering to identify new technology and operational efficiencies.
- Collaborate with client and vendor departments such as IT, Assignment Desk, Corporate Services, etc.
- Communicate with and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
- Manage budgets and guide production on costs.
- On occasion lead remote Broadcast Operations.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Experience with all facets of Broadcast Operations, including broadcast production, technical operations, and scheduling.
- Understanding of broadcast transmission standards and best practices.
- Strong strategic and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated and experienced leader. Must possess an ability to develop high standards, coach, inspire and lead the team.
- Proven leader, who can work individually and also in a team environment.
- Experience in planning, implementing and independently leading multiple projects.
- Experience in remote operations, domestic and international.
- Excellent verbal and written communications abilities.
- Experience with budgets and financial planning.
Experience Needed:
- 10 years experience in Broadcast Operations or related fields.
Educational Background Required
- Bachelor's Degree in communications, Broadcasting, Technology or other related studies
Salary Range: [[$220,000- $265,000]]
