Job Responsibilities
2. Maintains security of cash at all times; reports to supervisor for keys to get money reserves from locker security box and goes directly to toll booth to log in the system and locks and secures money before leaving.
3. Greets customers entering toll booth area.
4. Receives and collects payment by cash according to the standard classifications (i.e. car, truck, bus, pedestrian, etc.)
5. Issues correct change due to customers.
6. Counts and audits money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
7. Keeps accurate amount of monetary exchanges and forms.
8. Completes legible and accurate daily reports and comment sheets.
9. Maintains clean and orderly work area.
10. Maintains security and vigilance, constantly being alert of surroundings, reporting unusual circumstances and incidents.
11. Answers customers' questions and provides information on procedures and departmental operational policies.
12. Assists to open and close gates, turning green light on, and setting traffic cones.
13. Relieve other cashiers for breaks, lunch or leaves, as assigned.
14. Assists disabled customers as needed.
15. Assists in directing traffic as needed.
16. Assists on other job related assignments as assigned.
17. May be assigned to work in Hidalgo or Anzalduas Bridge.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
2. Job requires three (3) years of related work experience in cashiering and cash-handling.
3. Job requires a current, valid Texas Class C driver's license.
4. Job requires good customer service skills; employee must be able to meet the public in a courteous manner, using tact and diplomacy.
5. Job requires integrity; employee must demonstrate honest work ethics and dependability.
6. Job requires cooperation; employee must demonstrate being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude.
7. Job requires dependability; employee must be reliable, responsible and dependable in fulfilling obligations.
8. Job requires self-control; employee must maintain composure in difficult situations.
9. Must demonstrate excellent customer service related skills.
10. Job requires bilingual communication in English and Spanish.
11. Job requires mathematical skills.
Physical Requirements
Additional Information
1. This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
2. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
3. Job requires working evenings, weekends, holidays, and during hurricane or other emergencies, when needed.
