Description
Fisher Associates is seeking a Bridge/Structures Engineer to join our Structures Team within the Transportation Group. The Structures Engineer is responsible for work assignments related to bridge inspection, bridge load rating and analysis and all aspects of concrete/steel bridge and foundation design. The Structural Engineer contributes to the creation of safe, reliable, and efficient structures that meet client specifications and adhere to relevant design and regulations.

The primary function of this role is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships adhering to the Fisher Clientship philosophy.
  • Effectively complete assignments related to bridge inspection, bridge load rating and analysis and all aspects of concrete/steel bridge and foundation design.
  • Assist with field inspections and reports for bridge and culvert inspections.
  • Develop detailed design plans, drawings, and specifications for bridges and related structures.
  • Develop plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with reviewers and other disciplines to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
  • Proactively assist Project Managers and Designers.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members, consultants, and our clients.
  • Provide technical support during the construction phase, which may involve addressing design-related queries from contractors, conducting site visits, and reviewing construction progress to ensure it aligns with the design intent.

Requirements
Education & Experience
  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
  • 0-5 years minimum of transportation experience, Bridge Engineering experience preferred.
  • Intern Engineer certification (IE, formerly EIT) or ability to obtain it.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to travel to various project sites.
  • Must be able to access and navigate construction sites and job areas.
  • Ability to transverse uneven grounds.
  • Environmental Conditions: Office environment, field environment, construction site environment; exposure to dust, noise, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, heat, cold, and inclement weather conditions when working in the field.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $81,000 annually
Actual compensation may vary based on relevant experience, qualifications/education, and other factors. The salary range is not necessarily reflective of the actual total compensation that may be earned nor promises any specific pay for any specific employee. Salary range excludes monetary value of benefits.
