Scratch Baking, a neighborhood bakery in Downtown Milford is looking for a Bread Baker to join our team. Applicant must have 3+ years professional experience working with bread.
As our name suggests, we bake everything in-house, from scratch, daily. Our bakers make a variety of artisan breads and pastries each day including (but not limited to) ciabatta, baguettes, sourdough, brioche, pies, tarts, cakes and muffins.
Applicant must enjoy working in a team environment and find satisfaction making artisanal breads and pastries. We are looking for a candidate who will expand our bread offerings and will also widely contribute to our savory menu. Creative thinking is a must, as we strive to excite our customers with delicious seasonal flavors.
*Job Responsibilities:*
- * Efficiently scale, mix, portion, shape, proof, and bake multiple bread doughs.
- * Must have experience scaling, mixing, portioning, and baking dough, ensuring a high quality of excellence.
- * Maintain high levels of cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas, adhering to sanitation/health regulations and company policy.
- * Problem solve with Head Baker, baking team, and bakery management around any issues in regards to quality.
- * Use a variety of kitchen tools and equipment such as: bread mixer, stand mixers, convection and deck ovens, cutting tools, rolling pins, lames, electric scales.
*Requirements*
- * Keep a positive attitude and find enjoyment in everything baked.
- * Please include a resume and a brief description of yourself, highlighting your
- experience and enjoyment in the art of bread.
- * Experience as a Bread Baker, 3+ years preferred. Salary is based upon experience.
- * Know how to mix, shape and bake bread.
- * Be extremely clean, neat and organized.
- * Be punctual and reliable.
- * Be friendly, energetic and able to multi-task.
- * Have a sense of urgency.
- * Be able to work efficiently and consistently.
- * Be flexible and available to fill different shifts, including morning shifts.
- * Be team oriented.
- * Be willing to adhere to and care about our high standards.
- *Shifts Needed:* Full-time; early morning start times, Tuesday - Saturday schedule
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
