Title: Brand Marketing Manager
Reports to: Director of Marketing
Department: Marketing
Required Permits/Licensing/Registration: Marijuana Establishment Agent Card; Valid Driver's License
FLSA Status: Exempt
Supervisory Responsibilities: Brand Marketing Coordinator
Work Status: Full time
Overview:
Following policies set forth by the Company and the Marketing team, guide brand development with both in-house agency and external agency/design partners to ensure that all visual representations of our brands are consistent with the established strategic direction. Have a firm understanding of how DRH brands are received in the market, how they compete with other similar brands, and what products and brands resonate with the end consumer and why.
Essential Functions:
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the company, the brands, and product objectives.
  • Develop custom Brand Management Plans for each product and submit updated summaries on brand exposure to the Director periodically.
  • Lead and manage events as they pertain to branding, brand launches.
  • Ensure the messaging of company brands are effectively and consistently communicated in a positive fashion.
  • Conduct market research to understand trends and customer preferences as they relate to the market and competing brands/products.
  • Conduct consumer research to create personas, define target audiences and identify opportunity segments.
  • Gather and analyze data to make informed decisions, measure efficacy of campaigns & strategies and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Manage Brand Marketing calendar and Brand advertising initiatives.
  • Manage traditional advertisers to execute brand strategies.
  • Coordinate with the retail/merchandise consultant to initiate merchandise creation as it pertains to branding, events, wholesale activations and retail resale.
  • Manage brand launch process as it pertains to campaigns, merchandise, events and wholesale support.
  • Develop brand catalog that illustrates the value proposition and features of our in-house products.
  • Develop in-store branding activity that resonates with customer base.
  • Act as a liaison to internal marketing department and external agencies/resources to keep on track with branding objectives.
  • Assist in the development of pop-up content including supporting literature, displays, and promotional items.
  • Engage and aggregate customer feedback through product survey program.
  • Track industry product trends and provide relevant feedback to the Director.
  • Provide post analysis of brand activations, launches and initiatives.
  • Provides support for brand ambassadors and brand popup initiatives.
  • Manage retail brand displays and ensure that printed materials, shelf space, posters, etc. adhere to brand standards.
  • Manage the brand look and feel for product packaging.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications:
  • Operate under the guidelines provided by company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and complete all given directives in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate clearly whether verbally or in writing.
  • Basic understanding of compliance software and job specific information technology
  • Adherence to all industry standards set forth by Local, State, and Federal regulations
  • Capacity to work autonomously to achieve daily directives and department goals.
  • Flexible work schedule required; to include covering a vacant shift and/or support in emergency situations as needed.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner when communicating or interacting with all local community, industry, state, or federal officials.
  • Observe and maintain all safety procedures and protocols.

  • Ability to be flexible and work in various sectors of the department or company as needed and/or requested by their direct supervisor.
  • Ability to listen well and communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences.
  • Ability to use initiative and independent judgment appropriately.
  • Ability to apply appropriate public relations skills in various situations and circumstances and to facilitate change as needed.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environment.
  • Must have excellent communications skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret, understand, and comply with complex statutes, ordinances, regulations, standards, and laws.
  • Understanding of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, regulations, directives and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management, governmental agencies, community members and the general public.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment, and software including word processing, database management, spreadsheet applications and electronic mail.
  • Possess strong copywriting and proofreading skills.
  • Comprehension of marketing and operating in a highly regulated industry

Additional Requirements:
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must pass any and all required background checks.
  • Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Minimum Education and Experience:
  • Previous retail marketing and event management experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered, including internal experience.

Working Conditions:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, standing, sitting, bending, twisting and repetitive motions.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 40 pounds (100 pounds with assistance)
  • Must be able to tolerate dusty, strong smelling marijuana odors, and be able to tolerate exposure to the product.
