The Box Truck Driver (part time) will be responsible for transporting goods locally or regionally, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to all traffic and safety regulations. This position will work approximately two days per week and may be subject to "on call" assignments.
Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Safely operate a Box Truck to transport goods to designated locations, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Loading and Unloading: Assist with the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage during transportation.
- Route Planning: Plan and execute efficient routes to meet delivery schedules, taking into consideration traffic conditions, delivery requirements, and customer specifications.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on the Box Truck, reporting any issues or malfunctions promptly. Ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition for safe and reliable operation.
- Documentation: Complete accurate and timely documentation, including delivery receipts, logs, and any other required paperwork. Maintain organized records of deliveries and shipments.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers during deliveries, addressing any concerns or inquiries and providing exceptional customer service.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with dispatch and logistics teams, providing updates on delivery status, delays, or any other relevant information.
- Compliance: Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing the operation of commercial vehicles. Stay informed about changes in regulations and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Valid PA driver's license
- DOT Medical Card
- Clean driving record with no history of major violations or accidents.
- Proven experience as a Truck Driver or similar role.
- Knowledge of and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Physical ability to load and unload goods as needed.
