POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title Bottling Operator

Department Bottling & Processing

Manager’s Title Bottling & Processing Manager

Status Non-Exempt

SUMMARY:

The Bottling Operator in the Bottling & Processing Department is responsible for conducting the operations of a high quality, safe, and efficient Bottling and Processing facility. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a high attention to detail.

Safety is a top priority at Castle & Key and much of the Bottling Operator’s responsibility will focus on maintaining a safe and sanitary work area by ensuring the department and all equipment are cleaned and kept in good working order. Having the ability to acclimate and problem solve quickly will be critically important as unforeseen equipment issues may arise throughout the normal operation day. This role requires the individual to be organized, a strong leader and self-starter, with the desire for advancement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

➢ 1 year of manufacturing experience required; Bottling and Processing experience preferred ➢ Detail Oriented, highly organized, and flexible.

➢ Displays strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

➢ Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.

➢ Above-average reading and comprehension skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

➢ Demonstrated mathematical skills for basic calculations.

➢ Ability to learn quickly and support the plant’s process improvement initiatives.

➢ Other duties as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

➢ Extended periods of sitting, standing, walking may be required.

➢ May be required to push, pull, lift objects > 50 pounds

➢ Exposure to loud noises, alcohol vapors, extreme weather and temperature conditions (heat, cold, wet), dust, debris, sharp objects, potentially hazardous chemicals, gasses and equipment and steam. ➢ Exposure to machinery with moving parts.

➢ May be required to climb a ladder or crawl into confined space.

➢ Off hours, including nights and weekends may be required.

DETAIL OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

➢ Receives and maintains inventories of raw materials, work in process and finished goods. ➢ As part of a team, performs the following bottling operations for a variety of spirits: o Manually unpacks cases

o Cleans and fills bottles

o Operates Bottling and scale equipment

o Consistently and precisely applies fill level and labels according to desired specifications o Manually repacks and inspects individual bottles for completeness and quality

o Operates forklift or other powered lift/powered pallet jack

➢ Ships, receives, loads/unloads trucks, palletizes, picks, and stacks finished products. ➢ Comprehends and completes daily records of all transactions, including but not limited to Gauge Records, Dump/Batch Records, Bottling and Packaging Records, Alcohol Content and Fill Test Records, Finished Product Records, Bottle Records, Rebottling/Relabeling/Reclosing Records, Inventory Logs, and other records as needed.

➢ Gains a strong understanding of all equipment utilized in the bottling facility and their operations. Performs general maintenance, preventive maintenance, sanitation and general clean-up functions pertaining to all tools and equipment. Assists maintenance personnel when needed.

➢ Maintains a clean and safe work environment by complying with all sanitization and cleaning schedules. PPE will be required for personal safety and food handling practices.

➢ Ensures all safety rules and regulations are followed and investigates and communicates all accidents in a timely, accurate and complete manner.

➢ Responsible for quality control. Conducts various quality control tests and procedures to assure that incoming raw materials, work-in-process and finished product meet the desired quality guidelines. ➢ Effectively troubleshoots and resolves operational problems when they occur.

➢ Reads, comprehends, and complies with all production operation directives and procedures. Suggests improvements to processes and procedures on an ongoing basis.

➢ Maintains and services plant buildings, grounds, facilities and utilities equipment as needed. ➢ The transportation of raw materials and finished goods as required.

➢ Other duties as assigned.
