Job Description - Blowout Preventer (BOP) Technician
The BOP Technician job requirements will involve hands-on technical and operating support, installation, repair and maintenance of a blowout preventer (BOP). This position must have a can-do attitude towards job duties, a willingness to work long hours in inclement weather and varying conditions, ability to drive long distances and follow Axis Energy Services safety and procedural guidelines and our customer's safety guidelines and requirements. Additionally, and with appropriate training, this job may assist with some other well service and pressure control equipment functions to ensure continuous production consistent with established standards.
Job Functions/Duties:
- Servicing all blow out preventers
- Performing and documenting all pressure tests for these components after service
- Obtaining and maintaining an inventory of expendable materials and parts for these items
- Organizing and maintaining the facility including the testing station and storeroom
- Aiding management in developing a preventive maintenance system for these components
- Assisting field personnel with job related problems associated with these components
- Performing other duties as assigned
