Bookstore Assistant

Our church... (http://www.thecrossing.church/) is a non-denominational multi-site church with four St. Louis-area campuses where we gather each weekend to study this ancient story found in Scripture that is still transforming lives today. We believe church should be a place where believers in Jesus and skeptics can stand side-by-side to study truth and ask tough questions. We blend teaching and worship with art and technology to create a service where you can experience the message of Jesus in practical and life-changing ways.

Bookstore Associate...is a part-time position will provide operational support to the Chesterfield Bookstore and Corner cafe by working alongside the Bookstore Lead to facilitate the spiritual growth of our church community through resources and materials available in The Bookstore and The Corner. This position will also require leadership for some weekday sales, projects, and weeknight classes or off campus “pop ups.”

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with Books and Resources

• Assist the bookstore lead as needed with:
  • Imprinting Bibles
  • Rectifying inventory each month
  • Reading and evaluating Christian nonfiction
  • Acquiring books
  • Counting register drawers
  • Ordering and/or purchasing supplies for the Bookstore or Corner
  • Creatively managing social media
  • Communicating well with pastors and ministry administrators

Work with Volunteers

• Assist the bookstore lead as needed with:
  • Onboarding volunteers
  • Checking in with volunteers
  • Praying with volunteers
  • Planning volunteer development and celebration events
  • Attend monthly staff meetings at the Chesterfield Campus

WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Accurate with emphasis on calculations, timelines, and follow-up
• Excellent non-fiction reader
• Confident with basic math principles and bookkeeping
• Good verbal and interpersonal skills
• Able to recognize priorities and organize workload

MUST HAVES FOR ALL STAFF AT THE CROSSING

• Attend a service at one of The Crossing campuses on a weekly basis
• Passionate about their relationship with God
• Baptized after making the thoughtful decision to follow Christ
• Regard the Bible as God's final authority in all areas of Christian life and desire to be wholly obedient to it
• Wholeheartedly affirm The Crossing's Statement of Faith (https://thecrossing.church/beliefs), including our view on Baptism (https://thecrossing.church/baptismstance)
• Live a lifestyle consistent with scriptural principles
