Summary
As a Bookkeeper/Payroll Clerk with Ascension CPA, PLLC, you are a vital member of the team. You are responsible for maintaining client relations; as well as, developing relationships with the members of the firm. This position requires an individual with great communication, technology, and analytical skills. Important aspects of this are maintaining high standards of professional work and relationships with clients and staff.

Essential Job Functions
- Maintain client files and ensure they are updated in a timely fashion.
- Work with clients to collect information.
- Review client files and ensure reporting is accurate and ready for the Staff Accountant’s review.
- Provide bookkeeping and accounting services for low to mid-level clients.
- Assist staff members with obtaining specific information needed from selected client files.
- Prepare and process payroll.
- Prepare, process, and file all monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll forms/reports.
- Prepare annual franchise tax returns for businesses within your department.
- Prepare annual property tax returns for businesses within your department.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required
- Enrolled in an accounting/finance/business degree program; or,
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/business; or,
- At least two years experience in bookkeeping, payroll and/or finance.
- Proficient in Microsoft, QuickBooks Online, and Adobe products.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple, concurrent deadlines.
- Detail-oriented: ability to spot errors or inconsistencies.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
