Job Title: Bookkeeper/Controller
Position Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Bookkeeper/Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts receivable and payable, payroll services, sales, and maintaining accurate records in QuickBooks. This position offers great pay and benefits for the right candidate who is detail-oriented, organized, and proficient in financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including invoicing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain and reconcile bank accounts, credit card transactions, and other financial records.
- Process payroll services accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manage sales transactions and generate sales reports as needed.
- Prepare and submit financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Coordinate with external accountants and tax professionals for year-end financial reporting and tax filings.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and company policies.
- Provide support to management in financial decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or controller, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and MS Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in the landscaping or construction industry is a plus.
