Boiler Specialists, Inc. is looking for an experienced Boiler/Burner Specialists that has the technical & mechanical experience combined with the estimating skills needed to grow our service department, while ensuring excellence to our customers.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Desirable candidate should possess specific knowledge of industrial/commercial steam and hot water boilers, and auxiliary equipment.
2. Familiar with all forms of flame safeguards and the use of VOM's and other troubleshooting tools.
3. Quote associated controls.
4. Quote replacement, and modifications to customer's boiler room equipment.
5. Develops relationships with vendors.
6. Maintains awareness of trends affecting equipment market.
7. Follows up on projects that have not been completed i.e. open Work Orders that salesperson has quoted.
8. Follows up on additional parts or service work needed that are listed on service tickets and job estimates.
9. Issues purchase orders to service technicians on salesmen's projects.
10. Provide quality service for all assigned tasks while upholding company core values at all times.
11. Maintains department goals for profitability and efficiency.
12. Quotes burner, control, and boiler upgrades.
13. Negotiates service & equipment contracts.
14. Develops relationships with customers.
15. Responsible to attend service meetings and ongoing training.
16. Oversees the completion of service projects from review of plans or request for quote, to project close out, ensuring all is done within budget and deadlines.
17. Sells service contracts & water treatment agreements.
18. Reviews open work order files weekly
SKILLS REQUIRED
1. Boiler system's operational knowledge
2. Excellent organizational skills and working knowledge of the boiler trade.
3. At least 5 years field experience on boilers & burners.
4. Experience in boiler upgrades which includes electrical, combustion, and refractory installation.
5. Experience in burner controls which includes familiarity with Fireye, Client, Siemens, & Autoflame flame safeguard controls and management systems.
6. Be able to effectively communicate with customers, employees & vendors
7. Ability to multi-task and prioritize work responsibilities.
8. Ability to work independently and to instruct others.
9. Ability to sell and manage projects.
10. Diverse troubleshooting & problem-solving skills.
11. Understanding of administrative processes.
12. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook required.
13. Possess a high degree of oral & written communication skills.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
1. A positive attitude and desire to be part of a winning team.
2. Ability to follow schematics, piping diagrams, and blueprints.
3. Visit customer sites.
4. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction.
5. Identify, analyze, diagnose, and repair systems and products at customer's location.
6. Flexibility to work after hours/weekends as necessary.
7. Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
8. Participation in on-going training to enhance knowledge and skills.
9. Keep current on the installation, operation, service, and repair of represented products.
10. Minimum of 5 years field experience on boilers & burners.
11. Successful completion of background and drug screen will be required prior to employment.
COMMUNICATION & ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS
1. Document work by completing daily paperwork.
2. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
3. Determine parts to order for repairs and timeliness of need.
4. Communicate parts and new equipment sales leads to respective departments.
5. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, and other employees.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Full mobility is required, including the ability to use hands to finger, handle, and feel.
2. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
