Job Description
Hood Container Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Boiler Technician for our expanding production at our Houston, Texas, Plant.
Job Purpose:
Operates and maintains stationary equipment such as boilers, air compressors, generators, turbines, and equipment at the Houston Plant. Maintains climate controls of critical spaces in the complex which included but are not limited to production equipment, computer server systems, and sensitive areas where the climate must be at tolerable levels at all times.
Job Duties
- Ensure that the steam boilers are running at peak efficiencies which includes maintenance tear downs of each boiler annually.
- Conducts routine rounds and associated buildings to inspect auxiliary pumps and equipment.
- Monitors the Alarm System and ensures that the proper personnel is notified in case of an activated alarm.
- Maintains boiler area is neat and clean. Respond to after-hours emergencies.
- Reads meters and gauges or automatic recording devices at specified intervals to verify operating conditions.
- Performs inspection of equipment to detect routine malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment, or lubrication.
- Reports to supervisors any developments that appear to lead to unsafe operating conditions.
- Performs Preventive Maintenance on various equipment to ensure peak efficiencies.
- Adhere to all local safety procedures.
- Follow local Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Must be available to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and the occasional mandatory overtime as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED with additional technical training.
- 3-5 years' experience.
- Relevant experience operating a personal computer and MS Office 365.
- Certification/Licenses/Registration: Valid Third Grade Stationary Engineer license from the City of Houston/Harris Country.
- Must be available to work overtime when necessary.
Schedule:
1st Shit - 6:00 am - 2:00 pm
2nd shift - 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm
3rd shift - 10:00 pm - 6:00 am
