American Eagle Paper Mills is seeking a full-time Boiler Operator to join our Maintenance team.
OPEN POSITION:Boiler Operator - Shift
DEPARTMENTS: Maintenance
LOCATION: 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Tyrone PA 16686
REPORTS TO: Department Supervisor
POSITION STATUS: Full Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain safe, reliable operation of all Boiler House equipment to provide steam service to plant.
• Regularly inspect equipment.
• Must have knowledge of standby equipment and systems layout.
• Must know start-up/shut-down procedures.
• Maintain efficient operation of Boilers.
• Maintain good housekeeping.
• Communicate with Machine Room any operational issues.
• Observing all Mill and department safety policies and procedures.
• Understanding the hazards in the workplace and working safely and responsibly.
• Maintaining a good area housekeeping in the department and disposing of any waste according to the department requirements.
• Maintain quality standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Mechanical skills and abilities.
• Mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Must be able to walk distance to the work area and throughout the plant.
• Must be able to stand for 8-12 hours daily.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts that rotate between 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Exceptional attendance is required.
• Previous manufacturing experience is helpful, but not required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Manufacturing environment which requires the use of appropriate safety equipment including safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection in all areas of the Mill. In some areas hard hats may be required. Cut-resistant gloves and face shields may be required while performing some duties.
