Job Description
We are hiring a Boiler Operator 2nd Class to monitor and maintain oil and gas-fired steam boilers and associated equipment.
Pay starts at $21.00 per hour, operating on 2nd shift 2:00pm-10:00pm Monday-Friday, with Overtime required on Saturdays as necessary. Employees are eligible to enroll in our Medical, Dental, Vision, and other benefit plans after 60 days of employment.
Education and Experience:
- High School or Vocational School diploma or GED/equivalent
- 1-3 years’ experience as a Boiler Operator preferred
- MA 2nd Class Fireman License
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and ability to perform shop mathematics
- Able to exercise good judgment and make decisions independently
- Ability to work in a demanding environment with exposure to noise, heat, and chemicals
- Comfortable wearing appropriate PPE as needed, including safety glasses and hearing protection
As the Boiler Operator, you will be responsible for performing daily maintenance and repair tasks on various plant equipment. The Boiler Operator conducts inspections, adjustments, and repairs on boiler systems, valves, gauges, and piping, including replacing filters and inspecting fluids as necessary. The Boiler Operator also records daily readings, adjusts equipment settings, and inspects and makes adjustments to the Wastewater System, reporting any issues to the Chief Engineer. In addition, the Boiler Operator may assist with cleaning, painting, and other organized tasks as required.
