Back of the House Team Members - Cooks (BOH) are responsible for providing a pleasurable dining experience for customers by preparing high quality food. Duties range
from preparing ingredients, to being responsible for cooking all foods, and adhering to all health inspection prerequisites.
Duties include:
- Be mentally prepared to Open and Close the kitchen.
- Prepare food items for customers as requested in a timely and consistent manner.
- Determine food and supply needs.
- Inspect food products and supplies as needed.
- Check food presentation before it is served to customers.
- Controls and minimizes waste for inventory.
- Comply with outlined safety regulations and procedures.
- Follow CFA food standards and procedures.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Multi-tasking skills are essential.
- Help with the inventory counts.
- Able to learn/operate a combi oven.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or over.
- Capacity to work in a fast-paced work environment.
- A positive attitude.
- Ability to work standing for a significant amount of time.
- An eye for details.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to pass a food service sanitation course.
- Familiarity with general kitchen equipment and appliances.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and update recipes.
- Strong working knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety and sanitation practices.
