Boarding & Bathing Technician

McMillan Veterinary Clinic is hiring for the position of Boarding & Bathing Technician. MVC is an established full-service veterinary hospital offering an array of services in Sumner County. Experience is preferred, but MVC will train a great candidate.

Responsibilities and Duties include, but not limited to:

• Monitor each boarding pet for comfort, health, & safety
• Animal care including feeding schedules, exercising, medications
• Bathing boarders or scheduled baths each day according to the owners request
• Assisting other staff members and veterinarians as needed with restraint or treatment
• Recording daily Boarding & medical information for each guest
• Laundry for the hospital, boarding, and grooming
• Maintain inventory for the hospital including food, cleaning supplies, etc.
• Recall selected boarders to assure they are settled back at home.
• Cleaning for the boarding facility (Cat & Dog), hospital kennels
• Clean our hospital & reception (including bathrooms and daily mopping)
• Keep our facility free of odors
• Cleaning and maintaining outside grounds around our building & parking lot
• Pet food restocking and assisting in grabbing bags for clients

Job Candidates will possess the following skills:

• Consideration for animal safety, employee safety, & work safely in a kennel environment at all times
• Ability to stand for 8 hours per day
• Frequent walking, bending over, crouching, kneeling, and lifting 50 lbs.
• Ability to restrain and handle animals of all sizes
• General knowledge of cats and dogs
• Not allergic to dogs or cats, cat litter, chemicals or grass
• Work indoors and outdoors in all types of weather
• Good phone & communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Effectively communicate in English orally and written
• Be organized & detail oriented
• Dependable & trustworthy
• Arrive to work on-time
• Reliable transportation & the ability to drive during inclement weather
• Ability to work well with other people & process constructive criticism
• Ability to work at a fast pace & remain calm under pressure
• Take the initiative & be self-motivated with a good work ethic
• Exhibit maturity and ability to work without supervision

Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug-screening test and criminal background check.
