Blueprinting Body Shop Technician Job Description
Position Summary
The Blueprinting Technician is responsible for tearing down vehicles to conduct an initial estimate and providing a preliminary report of assessed damage through appropriate software.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
Thoroughly disassemble vehicles to assess the extent of damage.
Responsible for conducting inspections on both the interior and exterior of the vehicle to identify potential issues.
Carefully document the degree of damage to the structural, body, mechanical, or interior components.
Utilize Estimating Software to compose a preliminary report of assessed damage.
Collaborate closely with the Estimating Department to formulate a repair plan.
Work closely with Body Shop Technicians and manager providing insight of vehicles extend of the damage.
Provide relief to the estimating department in the absence of team members.
Assist the Body Shop with light bodywork in case of production overflow.
Actively participating in daily production meetings, offering valuable insights and updates on the status of tear-down processes.
Assist with other assigned duties, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to support the broader team.
Comply with company safety rules, guidelines, and standards.

Educational
A minimum of 3 years experience working in a collision repair industry.
Experience in tearing down vehicles.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of collision repair process, including insurance procedures and requirements for a variety of carriers
Ability to work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
