- Location:: Rocklin, CA
- Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
- Pay rate: $22 - $25, based on experience
The project involves generation of a rabbit monoclonal antibody using single B cell cloning technology. The intern will be trained to conduct a part of the cloning process and, if time allows expression of the antibody in mammalian cell cultures and quantification.
Specific skills, experience, and background:
1. Basic understanding of molecular biology and antibodies’ structure.
2. Having a work experience in a biology laboratory or similar and being familiar with basic instrumentation.
3. The ideal candidate will have completed undergraduate course work in molecular biology or similar field.
4. The candidate will need to perform bacterial and mammalian cell cultures, DNA extraction, DNA cloning, ELISA and Western blotting assays.
5. Undergraduate students pursuing a degree in biological sciences (e.g. biology, molecular biology, immunology, biotechnology, or similar) and entering their senior year. Community college graduates with an associate degree in biology, immunology, biotechnology or similar and planning to pursue a BS degree are also encouraged to apply.
