Bim Manager

The Opportunity 

Ulteig is seeking a BIM Manager who will support the Energy Solutions department in 3D implementation for energy storage systems (ESS) projects utilizing Autodesk Revit. This individual will manage the project workflows, digital design methods and technologies. This individual is also responsible for user adoption, training, and digital design standards development and implementation.

What You will Do

SOFTWARE

• Drive adoption and use of Autodesk Revit software including but not limited to incorporating new version releases and customization of the product deployments.
• Manage the implementation of supporting software for project delivery.
• Evaluate new project delivery related software and technologies to enhance productivity and project performance.
• Stay informed on best practices for use of software impacting digital design.
• Promote integration and efficiency tools to increase effectiveness in the project delivery process.

STANDARDS

• Responsible for 3D design, documentation, and technology standards. Which includes development, implementation, enforcement, enhancement, and change management.
• Creation and ongoing maintenance of software template, content library, tools, and files to assure high standards adoption across all offices.
• Involved in automation of process and tasks using Dynamo and/or integrations with 3rd party tools.
• Coordinates with the QA/QC team to assist in evaluation of and increasing adherence to company standards of project documentation.
• Work with various committee to strategize project delivery, company operations, best practices, guidelines, and implementation across all offices.
• Create standards documentation and material for ease of adoption across all offices.
• Develop and maintain processes and techniques for rapid 3D visualization of design concepts.

MANAGEMENT

• Work closely with leadership, and project teams within the Energy Solutions department ensuring needs are met.
• Create written technology evaluations and budgets for future technology adoption that aligns with the corporate goals.
• Evaluate and report on the firm’s current workflow, strategies, budgets, projects, staffing, etc.
• Maintain a workflow process that promotes user involvement in forming feedback channels to continue to improve and enhance existing project delivery and optimization of BIM standards.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in design delivery as it relates to 3D Design and BIM utilizing Revit for project delivery within the Energy Solutions department.

TRAINING

• Provide fundamental and intermediate training on software processes.
• Conduct internal continuing education training sessions.
• Provide technical orientation for new hires regarding design technology tools.
• Create training documentation and material for ease of adoption across all offices.
• Attend conferences, seminars, and workshops related to design technology to incorporate learning into company processes and training.

PROJECT INTERFACE

• Support project standards and coordination with customers.
• Assist on project work as needed, including support for modeling and detailing questions.
• Assist project teams in BIM project setup and execution planning.
• Help resolve design and coordination issues.
• Function as a support escalation point between IT help desk and software vendors for complex issues with 3D design software.

Education:

• Associate degree in drafting, architectural or engineering design or related field required, bachelor’s degree preferred.

What We Expect from You:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience or equivalent in utilizing Revit for large complex projects.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience or equivalent in a BIM leadership role including process and standards development.
• Expertise with Revit is required.
• Experience with Civil 3D is a plus.
• Experience with project delivery software such as ProjectWise or BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud preferred.
• Strong computer, technical, and communication skills are required.
• Ability to seek out and resolve issues through close interaction with other project team members.
• Demonstrated experience with a BIM execution plan and providing a detailed modeling plan for each phase of design, project coordination/model mediation/corrupt model troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication and training skills (verbal and written).
• Strong teaching and coaching skills to bring new team members up to speed.
• Demonstrate skills of self-motivation and drive.
• Experience in power sector or infrastructure a plus but not a requirement.
• Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Additional Opportunity Details:
Compensation Range is Generally +/- 15% of Position Mid-Point is $116,000*
