Billing Support

ChildNet Youth & Family Services, Inc. is currently searching for Billing Support for our Behavioral Health Services program in Long Beach, CA.

Behavioral Health Services (BHS) provides comprehensive services including individual/group therapy for vulnerable children and their families. The Billing Support position will be responsible for working in collaboration with the Assistant Billing Director, providing Billing Support to ensure that all Department of Mental Health (DMH) billing requirements are handled efficiently and in a timely manner.

The Billing Support responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Maintain the daily billing functions of Behavioral Health Services for the Inland Empire region.
• Verify client Medi-Cal eligibility at specified intervals, such as initially and monthly, or as required.
• Create and maintain client financial folders.
• Enter client services and pay sources into the internal Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
• Enter billing into the ChildNet internal EHR and into county billing systems.
• Transfer clients within internal EHR and external county systems.
• Compile monthly reports for various funding sources and non-Medi-Cal clients.
• Reconcile Department of Behavioral Health/Behavioral Health Services billing reports.
• Attend meetings/trainings as necessary or required to stay current with requirements and protocols for both Riverside and San Bernardino billing systems and ChildNet’s EHR system.
• Cross-train in all areas of the department in order to provide coverage within the department, as needed.
• Work cooperatively and cohesively with the Assistant Billing Director & Billing Director in implementing new procedures and documentation; provide feedback and support.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

The Billing Support must possess:

• Minimum of one (1) year of medical billing experience;
• Strong organization and interpersonal communication skills;
• Intermediate to advanced working knowledge/experience utilizing Microsoft Office programs with a high proficiency in Excel;
• Ability to maintain sensitive information with the strictest confidentiality;
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, including reading, verbally, and in writing;
• Must comply with HIPAA confidentiality standards when accessing or communicating patient information;
• Two (2) years of Department of Mental Health (DMH) billing experience is preferred, but not required.

*Pay rate will be determined based on qualifications, degree, experience, and/or a combination of those factors.*

All offers of employment with ChildNet Youth and Family Services, Inc. are contingent upon a post-offer, pre-hire medical clearance with an occupational physical, tuberculosis screening, and a negative drug test. A background clearance which consists of fingerprinting through the Dept. of Justice/FBI/Child Abuse Index Search is required. Underwriting requirements of this agency include keeping a valid California driver’s license, valid auto liability insurance on file, and maintaining a good driving record while employed.
