Full Time Parks & Recreation Director

Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Director of Parks and Recreation to join our team. As the Director, you will be responsible for organizing and implementing Parks & rec programs for all ages, maintaining City of Van Meter park property & buildings, supervising park employees, seeking grant funding for Parks & trails and more.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive parks and recreation program that meets the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive aspects for the entire community
- Plan, organize, and supervise a variety of recreational activities and collaborate with other City departments (Library, Public Works, etc)
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of recreational programs into the overall care plan
- Collaborate with community organizations and volunteers to enhance the range of recreational opportunities available to residents
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and program effectiveness as well as developing budgets and timelines

Requirements:
- High School Graduate or equivalent. Preference given to applicants with a post-secondary degree in leisure/rec services or related field or equivalent experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Certified in Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED
- Familiarity with recreational sports including but not limited to: softball, baseball and soccer

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $52,000.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Evenings as needed
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
