Billing and Collections Specialist

Scope: Billing & Collections Specialist will ensure that all audited services are submitted to funders in accordance with established policies, guidelines, and regulations (including all state and federal directives) and confirm full reimbursement for service as outlined in established contracts

Tasks:

• Work distributed Aging Reports in a timely manner to resolve denied claims and short payments.
• Monitor assigned work groups in VFI’s clearinghouse for claim denials and make necessary corrections to ensure payment for services.
• Status all unpaid claims greater than 45 to ensure funder has received the submitted claim.
• Submit all claim appeals within funder’s established filing limits.
• Ensure no claim is denied for “Claim filing limits expired”.
• Maintain less than 6% outstanding AR greater than 90 Days
• Communicate identified denial trends and reimbursement rate differences to supervision.
• Independently review relevant publications to maintain awareness of changing billing policies, guidelines, and regulations.
• Attend and participate in all departmental meetings.
• Projects as assigned.

Requirements: 3 year medical billing experience with knowledge of Home Healthcare and NY Medicaid a plus.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
