Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking bilingual Spanish Field Interviewers to work on a research study throughout the state of California. Data collection will take place between January and April 2024.
This part-time position requires interviewing people face-to-face and working daytime, evening and weekend hours, driving to and from the field interviewing sites (mileage reimbursed at federal mileage rate), walking, and climbing stairs. This is an hourly non-benefited position.
Candidates must be available for a virtual training on January 29th through February 2nd, 2024. This is a mandatory paid training.
As a Part-Time Bilingual Field Interviewer, you will:
Drive to designated addresses to conduct a brief in-person interview
Use a tablet to conduct the interview and enter information provided by respondents and transmitting data back to the home office daily
Meet with supervisor regularly both by phone and in-person
Encourage participation in the study

Employment Requirements
- Have a valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and a dependable car
- Pass a background check (includes DMV) and conflict of interest screening
- Successfully complete mandatory paid training (January 29- February 2, 2024)
- Drive to and from field interviewing sites (located in diverse neighborhoods)
- Interview people (either face to face or by phone) while following safety procedures and local and state guideline related to COVID-19.
- Work in diverse communities
- Must be able to read street maps
- Regularly work evenings and at least one weekend day per week
- Have familiarity with a smartphone and related applications (e.g. Google maps)
- Have familiarity with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Qualifications:
- Must be bilingual English and Spanish (reading, writing, speaking)
- Motivated self-starter, comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable traveling to and working with at-risk and underserved populations in a range of community and neighborhood settings
- Exceptional time-management, organizational, and record-keeping skills
- Prior survey research or data collection experience, or related professional experience preferred

- Travel frequently to respondent locations
- Be outside and exposed to all types of weather
- Be exposed to fumes and odors as might be expected in any outdoor environment
- Stand and walk throughout the workday (several hours a day)
- Climb stairs when necessary
- Wear a mask at all times when conducting data collection
- Communicate through speech and listening
- Read text verbatim from a tablet or computer screen
- Transport a tablet, cellphone and survey materials weighing approximately 10 pounds
All candidates must be available for the duration of the project. Continued employment eligibility is contingent upon successful completion of mandatory training, verified reference checks, a DMV background check, and criminal background check including Megan’s Law.
