As a part of this mission and to serve the Latino community, the Bi-Lingual Senior Mortgage Consultant will assist our Spanish-speaking members on the path to homeownership by guiding them through every step in the mortgage process. This advisor will be responsible for cultivating relationships with existing members and potential members that translates into new first mortgage business. This role will include outside sales efforts, use of CommunityAmerica’s network of branches and call-centers, and partnership with our Guadalupe Center Branch and Guadalupe Center.
Duties & Responsibilities: - Build positive relationships with members and prospective members by being professional, proactive, and courteous.
- Procure 1st mortgage loans through internal origination channels in addition to resources outside of the credit union, such as but not limited to Real Estate Agents, Builders, Financial Advisors, etc.
- Cross sell other credit union products.
- Promotes honest and open communication throughout the credit union.
- Demonstrate professional behaviors that are consistent with the credit union’s values, philosophies, and leadership characteristics.
- Work with other credit union departments to ensure the workflow or process is providing the best service to the members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Five (5) or more years of experience in a 100% commissioned sales position in the mortgage lending space.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Fluent speaking and writing in both Spanish and English.
- Proficient knowledge of all mortgage loan products.
- Proficient knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and FHA/VA/USDA
- Working knowledge of Origination Software Systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
- Ability to resolve interpersonal conflict and miscommunications.
- Knowledge of spreadsheet software and ability to use word processing software.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Must be willing and able to implement a Business/Marketing plan.
- Must be able to be bonded.
- Must have or be able to obtain NMLS registration
- Must have strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to project a high degree of professionalism and positive image of themselves and the credit union.
- Demonstrates a proficiency of sales aptitude, strategies and techniques.
