Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and process referrals for patients to specialty providers or facilities
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for referrals
- Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies regarding referral status and requirements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date referral records in electronic medical records system and Excel Spreadsheets
- Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure timely and efficient referral management
- Assist with scheduling appointments for referred patients as needed
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
Skills:
- Proficient in medical terminology and coding (ICD-10)
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and practices
- Familiarity with cardiology office operations is a plus
- Experience with insurance verification and managed care plans
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in using electronic medical records systems

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
