Bilingual Portuguese IT Help Desk Technician is responsible for providing technical support and focuses on resolving easy to medium break/fix issues. Most of the time is spent working with end users and IT staff to troubleshoot problems related to the desktop-computing environment. The position requires excellent communication, technical, and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to provide superior support and service to a wide range of internal contacts.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Answer direct calls to the Helpdesk for IT support.
- Create support tickets for all issues reported via phone and e-mail.
- Research tickets reported via the Help Desk system to guide developers in understanding the nature of the issues.
- Independently resolve problems of moderate to complex scope
- Resolve incidents using existing documentation and pre-defined processes.
- Create documentation for solutions to common issues.
- Manage user security in the company's ERP system as directed by the department and operational managers.
- Assist with PC deployment, including PC imaging.
- Assist with conducting new hire equipment, account, and configuration preparation.
- Install software necessary to user roles and system policy.
- Assist the network and server infrastructure teams.
- Troubleshoot email and internet connectivity issues.
- Enforce company security procedures and policies by ensuring all workstations and laptops meet security guidelines.
- Provide feedback and ideas.
- Assist with special projects as requested.
About you
Qualifications & Professional attributes
- Excellent interpersonal customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written skills, the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English and Portuguese.
- Strong organizational/analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent hardware skills with an understanding of PCs and competent to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of Windows 7 through Windows 10, and PC hardware
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and printers.
- Associate degree in computer science or equivalent experience preferred.
- A+, Net+ certifications preferred.
