Job Description: Medical Office Receptionist
Supervisor: Ophthalmologist
Job Summary: We are searching for an energetic Medical Office Receptionist to add to our team devoted to providing ophthalmologic patient care.
Principle Duties:
- Checking-in patients
- Scheduling patients
- Fielding phone calls
- Health insurance verification, prior authorizations, update and file medical records and insurance reports
- Maintain tracker for outcomes, calls, left messages, scheduled, cancellations, reschedules, and declines
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Having a welcoming, energized attitude with patients with excellent interpersonal and communicational skills
Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must have:
- Fluency in Spanish
- 1-2 years experience as a Medical Receptionist or assistant
- Knowledge of insurance verification and referral process for insurances like IEHP, Medicare, PPOs
- A high school diploma or equivalent degree
- Ability to interact and communicate well as a team and with others, in person or by telephone, including occasional difficult or frustrated customers or patients
- Ability to report to work with consistent attendance, prepared to work
- Attention to detail in their actions with the goal to provide the best care possible
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizing and planning skills
