Colorado Springs Imaging - Women's Imaging is adding a Full Time Bilingual Medical Assistant to our team!
Position Pay Range $17.30 - $20.85 | Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm|Bilingual Spanish Preferred Skill
Summary/Objective:
The Medical Assistant is a role dedicated to ensuring the patient has an exceptional patient care experience while in our center by meeting all patient needs. The Medical Assistant will assist the technologist through smooth patient transitions and continuously engaging with the patient on exam expectations and wait times. The Medical Assistant will facilitate proper dissemination of patient paperwork and patient communication in collaboration with the technologist. The Medical Assistant will assist the patient with any incomplete clinical pre-screening forms or consents and conduct the clinical history interview in preparation for the technologist's final review. The position will perform clinical screening for Mammography and Bone Density exam patients for technologist review. The Medical Assistant will set up biopsy trays using sterile technique, draw up medications on trays, and set according to protocol. In addition, the Medical Assistant will contact the referring provider office to obtain updated orders, clarify orders, and determine when a new order is required. The Medical Assistant is responsible for requesting and validating the patient's prior reports and images, and ensuring the clinical review has been conducted in a timely manner, prior to the patient's exam.
Essential Functions
1. Performs detailed clinical screening of Mammography and Bone Density patients for technologist review. Informs technologist of any contraindicated responses that could interfere with patient safety.
2. Assists patients with securing valuables and changing into proper attire for the examination.
3. Prepares room and non-sterile trays as needed to assist Radiologist.
4. Supports the technologists in preparing patients for the exam, helping patients on and off the imaging table, and escorting them back to the lobby or suitable waiting area.
5. Assists with the Priors Management Grid (receiving and validating priors). Obtains, imports, and validates prior outside studies.
6. Ensures safety procedures are followed at all times in all security zones of the Center.
7. Prepares images and paperwork to be sent for interpretation. Sends images through the PACS system to the appropriate location as needed.
8. Contacts referring provider office to obtain updated order and to clarify orders when needed.
9. Collaborates with the Patient Scheduling Coordinator when there is a change in exam/prep for the scheduled patient.
10. Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervision responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment. Potential exposure to radiation, which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.

Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
  • One plus year of administrative experience in a healthcare environment - radiology preferred
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver and a team player
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately
  • Ability to excel in a very fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to continuously "exceed" company and customer expectation
  • Strong communication skills & professional demeanor

Education/Certifications:
  • Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent (GED) - continuing education preferred
  • Active CPR certification
  • Medical Assistant certification/registration required
