As a Bilingual Financial Wellness Coordinator, you will play a vital role in enhancing financial well-being of our members, non-members, students, and businesses in our Tyler TX market. You will help to create, develop, and implement a comprehensive Financial Wellness program, drive initiatives, and contribute to creating a financially empowered community.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead Financial Wellness efforts for members, non-members, students, and businesses in the Tyler TX market, as well as our Clarksville TN market.
- Assist in the success of Altra Financial Education programs, including evaluating educational opportunities, organizing speaking events, coordinating seminars with the Community Engagement Coordinator, and tracking and evaluating those events and programs.
- Be the liaison with members and community groups, as well as schools, teachers, parents, and administrators, to encourage financial knowledge (Junior Achievement, DECA, FBLA, etc.)
- Coordinate volunteers and participate in Junior Achievement.
- Utilize forums/technology to educate members on various financial topics (websites, podcasts, blogs, social media sites, etc.)
- Develop relationships to promote financial knowledge through non-traditional classrooms (Boys & Girls Club, YMCA, Literacy Council of Tyler, etc.)
- Communicate Altra’s Financial Wellness education activities to employees and management.
- Represent Altra at various educational functions and coordinate volunteers and speakers, if necessary (presentations in schools, Reality Stores, new student orientations, etc.)
- Collaborate with schools, businesses and community organizations on financial knowledge needs and develop relevant programs to meet those needs.
- Extensive contact with outside vendors and school contacts, including elementary, middle, high and college / technical schools.
Qualified candidate will be required to have a High School diploma, GED or HSED. An associate degree in business, communication, or education would be preferred. A minimum one (1) year of experience with Financial Wellness education or financial education and events is required. Candidates are required to fluently communicate in Spanish and English languages, both verbally and in written form. Bilingual testing will be required.
Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams). Must demonstrate the ability to juggle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines, solve problems, and make evidence-based decisions. Candidates will be required to have excellent organizational skills, coaching and leadership skills and strong written and verbal communication skills (Spanish and English). Must be able to work with a diverse group of staff, adults, and youth.
This position is full time, 40-hours per week, Monday through Friday with occasional evening and weekend work hours to meet deadlines, attend events and / or presentations. Must have the ability to travel locally and nationally to Wisconsin and Tennessee, as needed. The Bilingual Financial Wellness Coordinator position will be located at the Tyler Administration office part-time, working remote from home part-time and / or in classroom settings for presentations or attending events.
Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time. Occasional lifting, bending, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items weighing up to 30 pounds is required.
Pay and Benefits:
- Competitive starting annual salary of $49,077.19+, based on experience
- Bilingual pay premium of $1.00/hour, after completing and passing the Spanish speaking exam
