Job Description

Application Deadline: 04/03/2024

Salary: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

This is a part time position.

Duties

Wilder Research is seeking two bilingual individuals to serve as Community Researchers, engaging specifically with a) the Vietnamese community and b) ethnic minorities or communities from Burma. These staff will collaborate with other researchers to coordinate community-based participatory research about behavioral health services with these focus communities. This role includes contributing to designing data collection tools and recruitment materials, participating in community-driven data analysis and interpretation, supporting the preparation of study reports, and planning and facilitating Community Advisory Board meetings.

Training is provided for this position. The position may require some daytime, evening, and weekend hours, with an anticipated range of 5-10 hours and the potential to increase hours over time if desired. This is an ideal position for students or those looking for part-time work.

When you work at Wilder, you will join a diverse community of passionate individuals who are committed to the Wilder mission and dedicated to serving whole families.

Wilder's workplace diversity strengthens our mission and contributes to our vision of individuals and families thriving in St. Paul and beyond. We offer a dynamic Total Rewards package, which includes competitive compensation and benefits.

In addition, you will have access to professional development opportunities, including development funding, tuition discounts, career development, and training opportunities. You will also have access to Wilder's inclusion, diversity and equity (WIDE) council, employee resource groups, and other DEI development opportunities available to all employees. Eligible federal loans may also qualify for deferment through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF).

Job Qualifications

Please follow the application instructions carefully. Applications must have a cover letter to be considered complete.

Successful candidates will have the skills and ability to help facilitate connections with the communities we are seeking to engage with (i.e., the Vietnamese community and ethnic minorities from Burma), including excellent interpersonal skills, good listening skills, solid attention to detail, and a desire to engage communities in research and evaluation work authentically. Candidates must be able to work well in teams and independently, accept feedback and revise work accordingly, and must be able to work on tight timelines and manage multiple tasks. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office software (especially Word and Excel) is required.

A high school diploma or GED and two to four years of relevant community engagement and/or research and evaluation experience is required. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for years of experience. We specifically seek candidates who meet the above qualifications and are bilingual in Burmese or Vietnamese.
