Qualifications:
Orlando Health's Benefits Department is seeking an experienced Benefits Representive to join their team.
Key Responsabilities:
- Provides prompt and courteous service information, and/or resolution of customer requests and problems relating to corporate benefit plans, such as medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, retirement savings plan (RSP), workers compensation, Leave of Absence Policy, voluntary benefits, time off programs and flexible spending accounts.
- Assists team members and departments with the FMLA/LOA process, regulations and procedures.
- Acts as a liaison with various benefit providers, administrators and carriers related to specific employee concerns or benefits problems.

Responsibilities: Essential Functions
- Answers, researches and responds in a timely manner to internal and external benefit inquiries. Work with designated carrier representatives to resolve benefit issues including but not limited to eligibility discrepancies, claim payments, and benefit plan interpretations.
- Answers routine questions regarding all benefit plans and advises employees of benefits options.
- Acts as a liaison with various benefit providers, administrators and carriers related to specific employee concerns or benefits problems.
- Maintains accuracy of data keyed into Human Resource System.
- Possesses ability to navigate through Human Resource System to retrieve and interpret data.
- Runs event maintenance and troubleshoots system problems that occur during process.
- Runs departmental queries on Human Resource System.
- Reconciles and processes monthly benefit invoices; researches discrepancies with carriers.
- Administers LOA policy.
- Participates in testing annual plan design changes.
- Establishes and maintains employee benefits records and files.
- Processes benefit change forms in accordance with Section 125 regulations.
- Evaluates opportunities for process improvement in benefits processing.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures, as well as relevant benefits law, such as HIPPA, FMLA, ADAAA, ERISA, COBRA, ACA, Section 125, Worker’s Compensation, retirement regulations and other federal, state and local standards.
- Participates in annual open enrollment and other benefit related activities as needed or required.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies.
Other Related Functions
- Supports the benefits department as needed on a day-to-day basis.
- Interacts with many different departments within hospital and various levels of management.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Participates in working groups, councils and committees.
- Continually seeks to improve overall function of department.
- Familiarizes customers with established human resources procedures, processes, and time frames.
- Exhibits positive and tactful written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizes and expedites flow of work.
- Maintains the confidentiality of all Orlando Health information.
- Knowledgeable of Human Resources guidelines, processes and policies.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and customer service skills when dealing with Orlando Health staff, management, and visitors.
- Possession of ability to comfortably interact with all individuals from various walks of life and differing hierarchical levels within the organization.
- Assumes responsibility for ongoing professional development and continuing education.
- Able to prioritize multiple assignments, adapting to changing priorities and situations, and follow through.
Education/Training
High School or GED certificate.
Experience
Two (2) years experience working in a benefits or customer service environment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products is required, including intermediate to advanced Excel and Outlook skills. Associate’s degree in Business, Human Resources or a business related field may substitute for experience.
