Objectives of this role

  • Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, life insurance, disability coverage, and other offerings. Handle changes or updates to employee benefits due to life events like marriage, childbirth, etc.
  • Guide employees through enrollment, help them understand their benefits, and ensure all forms and documents are completed on time.
  • Ensure the organization’s benefits programs comply with company policies and relevant laws, such as the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer multiple employee benefits programs such as group health 401(k), HSA plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions. Reconciles all benefits statements and invoices.

  • Serves as liaison to outside vendors to process enrollments, yearly open enrolment, termination and changes for current and future benefits.
  • Communicates with employees regarding the need for Evidence of Insurability (EOI) on requested products. Responsible for tracking EOI from start to finish and enrolling benefits, if EOI approved.
  • Processes disability, leave of absence and Family Medical Leave.
  • Provide accurate and complete information about benefits plan coverages, options, deductibles, employer contributions, employee premiums, enrollment deadlines, and any changes to existing benefits.
  • Investigates source(s)/cause(s) of benefits issues/problems, seeking input from others, as appropriate. Develops solutions and implements them.
  • Creates and maintains tracking logs for benefits issues/problems/complaints. Analyzes data trends and reports findings to the supervisor along with recommendations for addressing common and/or high-impact issues.
  • Ensures accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Assists with recruitment and interview process and tracks status of candidates.
  • Assist with onboarding and new hire orientation.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • May be required to travel.
  • May be required to work overtime and or holidays.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in human resources, business, or related field
  • Three years of human resources experience in benefits administration or related roles.
  • Resourceful mindset and strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Paylocity and Google Docs
  • Knowledge of local, state and national laws and regulations related to benefits and employment.

Physical Demands: Sitting for prolonged periods of time, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 30 pounds. Repetitive motion. Extensive use of computers and keyboard. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and small carry parcels, packages and other items, to walk short distances, and drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials.
