Job description

Position Summary:
Under general supervision, provide customer service to clients and their employees with regard to benefit
related issues and concerns. Responsible for timely entrance of employee demographic information
and providing benefit related deduction summaries for clients. Answer inquiries, via telephone and
email in a timely manner. Maintain accurate employee records within web-based benefit systems (i.e.
BCBS, VSP).

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of the organization and adheres to all organizational standards.
  • Answer telephone and email requests and direct customers accordingly.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of benefits related software systems (Prism).
  • Ability to analyze situations and constructively work to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with peers, employees and clients on a daily basis.
  • Complete audits and reports on a variety of benefit products upon request.
  • Assist and route client inquiries related to employee benefit plans.
  • Assist and route client inquiries, with regard to other services provided by Lyons HR to the proper department.
  • Execution of special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with Open Enrollment communication process and facilitate related changes to plan providers and payroll systems.
  • Administer COBRA notifications and process any applicable payments received.

Job Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education and/or Experience

Demonstrated experience with benefit administration, or a closely related field, required. Attention to detail, robust customer service skills, and excellent written and verbal communication required.

  • Computer Skills

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required. Knowledge of or ability to learn benefit related software system processes required.
