Company Profile:

Rockport Healthcare Services is a leader in post-acute long-term care and skilled nursing. The company specializes in health & wellness, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, geriatrics, nutrition, infection control and other patient-centered care. Company currently seeks to fill Benefits Associate role to handle company benefits administration duties in a fast-paced environment.

Job Summary:

Assists with the administration of retirement, health, and welfare employee benefit programs. Assures compliance with all applicable state and federal regulation. Responsibilities include explaining benefits and assisting in the department’s processes. Compiles, analyzes, and reports data including compilation of invoices, semi-monthly deductions reporting, and other reports. Presents information/reports to inform and educate associates and management. Serves as a liaison with benefits partners for open enrollments. Reports to the Supervisor of Benefits.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Audit vendor, HRIS, and third-party files to ensure congruency in the systems
  • Learns HRIS to key in benefit enrollments, make changes, and/or terminate benefits
  • Helps coordinate open enrollments throughout the calendar and/or plan years
  • Assist with benefits administration and be able to resolve complex and escalated benefit issues
  • Monitor and resolve errors in systems including COBRA, changes in employee status, qualifying life events, QMSO’s
  • Review health care invoices to identify and correct discrepancies
  • Health Savings Account administration and auditing
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis for various parties, including CBA negotiations, vendor, and broker requests
  • Ensure benefits deductions are correct each payroll by conducting high level reviews
  • Provide excellent customer service to facility administration, employees, third party administrators and vendors.
  • Assists with 401(k) plan communications, administration, and resolves issues associated with 401(k) administration

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills.

· Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and MS Word

  • Kronos experience preferred.

· Ability to adapt to the changing nature of work and other assigned duties.

Education and Experience:

Required:

· Bachelor’s degree in HR or related fields. Experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education.

Preferred:

· Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field of study and combined experience in benefits administration.

· Two years’ experience in HR and/or benefits administration.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
