This position supports Mercy’s philosophy of patient centered care by providing competent and professional video camera monitoring under the supervision of a Shift Supervisor. The video camera monitor tech provides 24/7 continuous observation of the treatment milieu within the Behavioral Unit.
Job Duties
- Demonstrates ability to observe, monitor and identify potential safety risks throughout the unit.
- Promptly communicates significant events such as an accident, injury and/or behavioral problems to Shift Supervisor.
- Works closely with the Shift Supervisor on each unit
- Completion of Task Competency Checklist.
- Demonstrates sole responsibility for continuous visualization of video camera monitor screen.
- Promptly alerts appropriate staff to respond to a potential safety event.

- Manages stress appropriately to include multitasking, concentration to detail and handling of sentinel events
Professional Experience
- Previous Patient Care Technician experience preferred
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Mental Health background preferred.
Licensure, Certification, Registration
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support, in accordance with the American Heart Association preferred.
Physical Demand Requirements
- Sedentary: Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a minute amount frequently

Schedule: Part Time, Evening/Night, Tuesday 11am-7pm and Wednesday night 7pm-7am
