Position Summary:
The Outpatient Therapist is responsible for providing outpatient clinical services to adults of Western Montana Mental Health Center. The Outpatient Therapist functions as an active member of a team of professionals in the delivery of community-based mental health treatment and rehabilitative services providing outpatient therapy services in a continuum of care. The Outpatient Therapist provides clinical training for staff and consultations for families and clients as appropriate and positively represents the Mental Health Center to the local communities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Completes treatment planning within 90 days to provide recommendations for treatment

interventions and treatment plan implementations for current, new and emergent cases

Provide regular and routine clinical consultation when requested on clients served through Western Montana Mental Health Center via Tele-Health or On-Site

Works in cooperation with all Western employees to provide quality care for clients

Carry’s an assigned caseload and meet the minimum productivity requirements

Make appropriate referrals to community resources based on the assessment and needs of the client.

Maintains and updates clinical records in a timely and comprehensive manner and in accordance with Western’s policies and procedures

Provides regular and ad-hoc consultation and education services to family members, consumers and the community-at-large

Attends all other required scheduled staff meetings unless excused by the supervisor;

Promotes services and initiatives that empower staff, consumers and family members

Advises the Service Line Director or Program Manager in advance of any possible or pending legal involvement related to services provided by WMMHC

Maintains client and employee confidentiality

Provides tele-therapy as requested and according to WMMHC needs

Performs additional duties as assigned by the by the Service Line Director of Program

Manager that may be specific to program or agency needs

Education and Experience:
Must have at least one year of extensive training and/or experience in community-based treatment of individuals diagnosed with SED or SDMI
Comprehensive and current knowledge of psychotropic medications and an understanding of crisis intervention and use of hospital alternative services
Ability to develop therapeutic alliances, perform assessments, diagnoses and develop practical treatment approaches for and with consumers who are experiencing SED or SDMI.

Ability to utilize electronic health record documentation software and communicate through use of Word documents, Outlook and the Internet.
Ability to accurately and appropriately complete personal daily time cards and client documentation
License to practice as an LCPC or LCSW in Montana and hold current license or a CIT designation as a LCPC or LCSW.

Minimum Qualifications:
Requires master’s degree in an accredited institution in psychology, clinical social work,
professional counseling, or other clinical behavioral science

Must keep Credentialing current
Completion of CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training required
Ability to pass background check and driver’s license check upon offer of employment.
Must have valid Montana Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
Provide proof of auto liability insurance coverage per Western’s policies.
