Behavioral Health Therapist

Necessary qualifications and skills: Graduate of an accredited college or university with at least a master’s degree in social work. Licensed in Arkansas as a Mental Health Professional with at least one-year post-master’s experience in psychiatric or mental health setting. At least one year of chemical dependency experience. Must have completed hospital and unit orientation period in order to act as a team leader.

Summary: The Therapist will provide quality individual and group therapies, as well as oversee case management services to patients on the Behavioral health unit using professional standards, and according to their licensure and or certification. The therapist will assist in receiving patients, working with families and placement of patients at discharge, as well as coordinating immediate aftercare services.

Job Duties and Descriptions:

• Performs and documents a comprehensive systematic patient assessment in accordance with the plan of care.
• Open, accurate, and responsive oral and written communication.
• Implements and documents patient care treatments and procedures.
• Exhibits dependability and reliability in work attendance.
• Demonstration of ethical and professional conduct.
• Provides mental health care
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and associate information.
• Attend unit meetings.
• Provides leadership and supervision of team members in the performance of patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
