Essential Functions
- Establishes a therapeutic relationship with patients through assistance with daily living, which may include personal hygiene, grooming, laundry, meals, etc.
- Responsible for the overall maintenance of a therapeutic and safe environment in the unit.
- Performs routine duties such as taking vital signs, height/weight of patients and collects routine specimens, as needed.
- Documents safety checks and therapeutic communication & 1:1 patient interactions.
- Leads daily educational groups focused on essential skills patients need to manage their symptoms.
- Works under immediate supervision of the RN.
- Reports to a nurse manager or nurse leader.
Education Requirement
- Minimum requirement of a High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree with some education or experience in mental health preferred.
- Preferred at least one year experience with Behavioral Health patients, adults and/or geriatrics. Experience in a healthcare environment and/or social services area preferred.
