DESCRIPTION:

ACC is hiring a Full-Time Behavioral Health Support Staff (Clerical Admin) to support our Dearborn and Detroit offices.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Bilingual fluency in English and Arabic
  • Type 45 words per minute
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience with knowledge of general medical or outpatient office procedures.
  • Verify insurance and collect/post payments
JOB HIGHLIGHTS

•    To respect and maintain the privacy and dignity of clients, to assure client confidentiality at all times.
•    To open the office in the morning, greet consumers and agency visitors.
•    To turn off or unplug appliances and machines according to agency protocols, lock all necessary doors (i.e. medical room, nurse and doctor offices). To keep the reception area ready for each working day, and have all front desk activities fully operational at the start of the business hours.
•    To participate in staff and educational trainings
•    To make spreadsheets, manage data and create documents on computers using desktop publishing programs.
•    Answers the phones as part of the customer service protocols, relays messages and channels communications appropriately via telephone and / or email.
•    To determine the financial status of patients and their eligibility for health services.
•    Collect all co-pays, co-insurance and deductibles from clients and maintain client balance at zero (0) dollars.
•    To organize and maintain forms and office stationery required for front desk activities and staff.
•    Review consents, IBPS/PSA, LOCUS and treatment plans to have current dates
•    Review authorizations prior to doctor appointments to ensure services will be paid by payers
•    Ensure initial & tri-annual psychiatric evaluations for adults and annual for children are scheduled and monthly to bi-monthly medication reviews are scheduled. Documentation of engagement with clients is completed in contact notes.
•    Maintain all calendars (FOCUS, ACES, ODIN, MH-WIN) to ensure intake and annuals appointments are logged.
•    Maintain medical records queue to ensure all requests have been mailed/faxed.
•    Maintain intake packets (English and Arabic) brochures and required posters/flyers in the main lobby.
•    Maintains all records for the psychiatrist, including medication consents and the scheduling of clients.
•    Reports all client complaints directly to the RR Officer or Grievance and Appeals Coordinator on site.
•    Administer Client Satisfaction Surveys to patients as part of Quality Improvement Initiatives.
•    Completes reminder phone calls if text/call feature is not enabled.
•    Work in collaboration with the Quality Department to ensure the standards of the agency
•    Performs any other assigned duties or tasks as deemed necessary.
•    To perform all the duties mentioned above, medical receptionists should have a warm outgoing personality, excellent telephone etiquette, ability to work well under pressure, ability to work accurately and efficiently, ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with persons of all backgrounds, knowledge of more than one language, knowledge of patient billing procedures, etc.
