We are currently hiring a Registered Nurse for our Detroit Outpatient clinic who would be responsible for the delivery of high-quality patient care in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures established by ACC.
Qualifications:
- ADN / BSN / Diploma in Nursing with an active current RN license in Michigan
- Must possess and maintain current CPR/BLS Certification
- A minimum of one (1) years of recent Psychiatric Nursing Experience Required

Responsibilities:
- Provide psychiatric nursing care under the supervision of the medical director within a culturally diverse and bilingual community mental health center
- Measure patients' vital signs, such as their blood pressure and weight.
- Give patients injections or medications as directed by physicians and as permitted by state law.
- Coordinate medical care and intervention with other clinical staff and psychiatrist(s)
- Observes the condition of individuals served and reports any changes or reactions to medications or treatments. This is clearly documented in the individual’s record.
- Provide groups on healthy living and medical risks
- Maintains paperwork in accordance with Medicaid and Department of Community Health guidelines, as well as the ACC policies and procedures.
- Monitor consumers vital signs and document findings in the individuals record.
- Administer medications including intramuscular medications and initiates appropriate action concerning client reaction to medication and therapeutic procedures.
- Coordinate the ordering of sample medications and distribution of samples to consumers
- Maintain patient assistance applications
- Ordering and maintaining medical supply orders.
- Complete initial / annual onsite nursing assessments and provides related psychiatric interventions within the psychiatric outpatient care center.
- Coordinate lab services and follow up on lab orders/results.
- Communicate with pharmacies on medication problems, monitor refills for consumers as directed by the psychiatrist and provide follow through.
- Work in conjunction with Program Director and Clinical staff in providing clinical intervention as needed within the community mental health center.
- Assist with and instruct community mental health employees regarding safety and participate in the safety committee of the mental health center.
- Provide psychoeducation trainings to staff regarding mental / medical health topics
- Follow-up with Primary Care Physician regarding patient care
