STRIDE Community Health Center is a 501(c)(3) Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a 30-year history of providing primary care and other health-related services in a community-based setting. Established in 1989 in response to the primary health care needs of the medically indigent population in suburban Denver, STRIDE Community Health Center has the largest population base of any FQHC in Colorado and provides primary care, dental, pharmacy, Behavioral Health, health education, care coordination, patient navigation, pharmacy, and outreach and enrollment services in accordance with its mission.

What will you be doing in this role? A successful candidate will:

General Purpose: This Licensed Doctoral Level Clinician (Licensed Psychologist) provides clinical mental health services to patients in our highly integrated primary care setting.

Behavioral Health Providers (BHPs) work collaboratively with primary care and dental providers to reduce barriers to mental health care; much of the day is spent providing brief screenings, assessments, psychoeducation and brief therapeutic services in the medical exam room or an in-clinic consultation room. BHPs carry a small caseload of patients for therapy services. BHPs may also work in collaboration with internal and external psychiatric providers to enhance the care of patients taking medication. This position is entirely clinical in nature and responsibility.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Deliver brief clinical interventions to STRIDE’s diverse patient population in an integrated primary care setting, including screening/assessment for Behavioral Health disorders, substance use concerns, stress, and/or behavioral challenges with medical regimen, and providing brief therapy services when indicated
• Provide culturally sensitive mental health and substance use treatment to individuals and families from diverse backgrounds
• Contribute as a member of multidisciplinary teams (comprised of medical, dental, care coordination, health education and other BHPs) in delivering Behavioral Health services to STRIDE’s patients.
• Collaborate in implementing and developing innovative service line approaches
• Interact positively and build rapport with patients, coworkers, and community partners
• Provide clinical supervision and oversight to STRIDE’s psychology training program, as appropriate and indicated
• Serve as expert consultant to care team and Behavioral Health team given advanced training and knowledge of clinical psychology
• Provider clinical screening, assessment and evaluation of ADHD
• Participate in the expansion of STRIDE’s assessment services and clinics

Job Qualifications

Knowledge, skill and ability:

• Work independently and organize work in a manner that ensures accuracy and efficiency, including the ability to drive between clinics to provide services as needed
• Ability to analyze and synthesize data to determine the appropriate services needed for patients
• Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, and creativity to changing needs and situations
• Ability to complete clinical documentation within 72 hours of encounter
• Ability to handle HIPAA sensitive information ethically and responsibly
• Ability to protect the confidentiality of patients, employees, and business information

Education or Formal Training:

Completion of APA-accredited, or equivalent, doctoral program in clinical or counseling psychology

Other Requirements:

• Colorado Licensed Psychologist in active and good standing
• Bilingual candidates preferred but not required

Experience:

• Preferred experience working with diverse patient populations
• Preferred experience working in health psychology or integrated care settings
• Preferred experience working with co-occurring substance use disorders and/or Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services
• Preferred experience working with individuals throughout the lifespan

Material and equipment directly used: Computer, printer, multi-line telephone systems, fax machine, copy machine, calculator, and all Microsoft Office 365 products (including Outlook, Excel, Power PBI, Teams), and the internet.Experience working with EPIC Electronic Health Record, or other EHR platforms

Working environment/physical activities: Office environment within a clinical setting. Enters data into computer programs via computer/laptop, mouse, and keyboard. Moves about the office environment and occasionally to other locations. Moves/transports objects up to 25 lbs occasionally. Communicates information to others via computer, internet, and telephone. Discerns/analyzes information from others to assist in decision making

In an aim to help keep our patients, staff, and communities safe, STRIDE requires that all hired employees be fully COVID-19 vaccinated and to obtain an annual flu shot. STRIDE CHC employees are also required to be screened for tuberculosis and to complete a PPD test.
